Description
This is a Request for Information (RFI) only. This RFI is issued solely for information and planning purposes - it does not constitute a Request for Quote (RFQ) or a promise to issue an RFQ in the future. This RFI does not commit the Government to contract for any supply or service. Respondees are advised that all costs associated with responding to this RFI will be solely at the interested party's expense. Not responding to this RFI does not preclude participation in any future RFQ, if any is issued. Docking blocks are used during maintenance and repair of Naval vessels. PHNSY&IMF has a large number of docking blocks which are obsolete or unserviceable. Disposal of the docking blocks is beyond the scope of Shipyard operations and resources. The docking blocks are constructed of concrete with reinforcing vars. 8" thick wood is installed on the tops and bottoms of types a and b docking blocks. PHNSY&IMF requires a Contractor to dismantle/demolish and completely remove 235 docking blocks as follows: TYPE QUANTITY DIMENSIONS (Not including wood) Weight (per block) A 33 96"L x 42"W x 38"H 13,300 lbs B 196 49"L x 42"W x 38"H 6,787 lbs C 5 72"L x 8"W x 6"H 300 lbs D 1 78"L x 72"W x 89"H 43,388 lbs The large docking blocks will need to be broken down. The extent of the breakdown shall be kept to a minimum, only enough to facilitate transportation. The contractor shall provide all labor, equipment, tools, and material to demolish the docking blocks and properly dispose of or recycle the material. The Contractor shall have salvage rights to all scrap material generated as a result of the demolition.
