- Description
- This is a Sources Sought notice. This is NOT a solicitation for proposals, proposal abstracts, or quotations. The purpose of this notice is to obtain information regarding the availability and capability of all qualified sources to perform a potential requirement. This notice is issued to help determine the availability of qualified companies technically capable of meeting the Government requirement and to determine the method of acquisition. It is not to be construed as a commitment by the Government to issue a solicitation or ultimately award a contract. Responses will not be considered as proposals or quotes. No award will be made as a result of this notice. The Government will NOT be responsible for any costs incurred by the respondents to this notice. This notice is strictly for research and information purposes only. The Purchase Description is as follows: 1. Statement of Need and Purpose: Amersham Typhoon RGB laser image scanner is a versatile instrument that allows to prosses multifluorescent-, radioisotope-labeled, and colorimetric samples on gels, membranes, microplates, culture dishes, and tissue sections. It enables infrared and visible fluorescence imaging techniques using visible and near-infrared (NIR) excitation wavelengths that is applicable to a wide range of fluorescent dyes. It provides super accurate and sensitive quantitation methods of fluorescent, chemiluminescent and colorimetric signals. Scanner can detect as low as 3 pg of protein per sample providing extremally high dynamic range of signal stability that can differ 5 orders of magnitude. Typhoon RGB generates high resolution images. It can resolve fine details in the sample with a pixel resolution as low as 10 µm. It also provides high sample throughput which maximizes efficiency using 40 × 46 cm scanning area to simultaneously image up to 20 gels or blots (10 × 8 cm) or 9 multiwell plates in a single scan. 2. Background Information and Objective: The Translational Gerontology Branch (TGB) requires the use of highly efficient and versatile image scanner to process the human plasma samples, skeletal muscle biopsies and purified white blood cell subpopulations collected for our ongoing proteomics study. Amersham Typhoon RGB laser image scanner will be replacing our failed scanner that was purchased from GE HEALTHCARE BIO-SCIENCES CORP. Failed scanner has operational computer and all required software that is compatible with the newer model of the typhoon. 3. Generic Name of Product: Amersham Typhoon RGB laser image scanner 4. Purchase Description: laser image scanner; Amersham Typhoon RGB laser image scanner; 5. Salient characteristics Amersham Typhoon RGB laser image scanner allows to prosses multifluorescent-, radioisotope-labeled, and colorimetric samples on gels, membranes, microplates, culture dishes, and tissue sections. It also provides high sample throughput which maximizes efficiency using 40 × 46 cm scanning area to simultaneously image up to 20 gels or blots (10 × 8 cm) or 9 multiwell plates in a single scan. This instrument meets minimum required standards for our undergoing projects: 25-50 µm in image resolution with 5-10 pg of minimum protein detection amount. The instrument shall: a.Consist of a 3 laser analyzer b.allows to prosses multifluorescent-, radioisotope-labeled, and colorimetric samples on gels, membranes, microplates, culture dishes, and tissue sections. c.enables infrared and visible fluorescence imaging techniques using visible and near-infrared (NIR) excitation wavelengths that is applicable to a wide range of fluorescent dyes. d.detect as low as 3 pg of protein per sample providing extremally high dynamic range of signal stability e.Include scanner installation and 1-year warranty. 6. Quantity: 1 7. Delivery Date: Should be delivered within 60 days of receipt of order Capability statement /information sought. Capability statement /information sought. Contractors that believe they possess the ability to provide the requirement should submit documentation of their ability to meet each of the project requirements to the Contract Specialist. The response should directly and specifically state in the, capabilities statement, which project requirements you can supply. Contractors must also provide their Company Name, DUNS Number, Physical Address, Point of Contact, and Size and Type of Business (e.g., 8(a), HubZone, etc.) pursuant to the applicable NAICS code and any other information that may be helpful in developing or finalizing the acquisition requirements. The information submitted must be must be in an outline format that addresses each of the elements of the project requirement and in the capability statement /information sought paragraphs stated herein. The response must include the respondents' technical and administrative points of contact, including names, titles, addresses, telephone and fax numbers, and e-mail addresses. All responses (capability statements) sent in response to this Sources Sought Notice must be submitted electronically (via e-mail) to the Contract Specialist. Facsimile responses are NOT accepted. The response must be submitted to Danny Cohn, Contract Specialist at danny.cohn@nih.gov. The response must be received on or before the response due date provided in this notice. Disclaimer and Important Notes: This notice does not obligate the Government to award a contract or otherwise pay for the information provided in response. The Government reserves the right to use information provided by respondents for any purpose deemed necessary and legally appropriate.
