Description
The Miami VA Medical Center, Miami, Florida has a requirement for Project 546-14-144 to Correct Life Safety Deficiencies Phase V per the drawings and specifications provided in the future solicitation. THIS SOLICITATION IS A 100% TOTAL SERVICE DISABLED VETERAN OWNED SMALL BUSINESS SET ASIDE (SDVOSB). PROPOSALS WILL ONLY BE CONSIDERED FROM SERVICE DISABLED VETERAN OWNED SMALL BUSINESSES THAT ARE VERIFIED IN VETBIZ AT THE TIME OF SUBMISSION OF PROPOSAL AND DATE OF AWARD in accordance with Public Law 109-461. This acquisition will be conducted in accordance with FAR 15.101-2, Lowest Price Technically Acceptable (LPTA) Source Selection Process as a competitive Request for Proposal (RFP). A firm-fixed price construction contract is anticipated to be awarded to that responsible bidder whose bid is the lowest evaluated price of proposals meeting or exceeding the standards for non-cost factors. The NAICS code is 236220 size standard is $36.5 million. Magnitude of Construction Cost range is $500,000.00 to $1,000,000.00. This project will address life safety corrections in Building one (1) the Main Hospital. Contractor shall completely prepare site for building operations, including demolition, and furnish labor and materials and perform work for Correct Life Safety Deficiencies, Phase V as required by drawings and specifications. This project will require extensive sequencing and scheduling in work areas as not to disrupt normal hospital operations. There will be many phases. Work includes but it s not limited to: Contractor must have a General Contractors license and coordinate all work with project COR. Electrical contractor/subcontractor must also have a certified license. General Construction includes asbestos abatement/removal of Ceiling panels with red backers in First Floor project work areas, as indicated on drawing to be provided in the solicitation. Provide abatement complying with all requirements of VA master specification. General Construction includes work in areas where interior corridor re-finishing work has been completed recently. In those areas, this project includes demolition work and removal of recently finished items such as ceiling grids, ceiling panels, ceiling light fixtures and exit lights, existing interior walls and flooring, wall bumper rails and chair rails, and painted surfaces. It may require the replacement of some of these items. Electrical work which includes all labor, material, equipment and supervision to perform the required electrical construction work on this project, including work with respect to cabling, equipment, and modifications to controls for communications, telephone/data, access control and fire alarm/detection and HVAC system interface. Electrical work also includes power and control connections to new and modified existing electrically-operated door hardware, providing new exit signs and other interior lighting, any and all relocations and reconnections of conductors, cables and conduits as needed, to address requirements to provide firestopping installation, and access to all those locations. MECHANICAL WORK: Work includes all labor, material, equipment and supervision to perform the required fire suppression, plumbing, and mechanical construction work on this project. For all systems, remove and replace insulation as required for application of firestopping at exit access corridor walls as indicated on the drawings. In addition, work includes any and all relocations and reconnections of piping as needed, to address requirements to provide firestopping installation, and access to all those locations. Solicitation VA248-17-R-1579 will issue and be posted to the Federal Business Opportunities (FBO) website on or about 8/30/17. A ONE-TIME organized pre-proposal site visit will be held at the Miami VA Medical Center, Conference Room # A118 on 9/5/17 at 1:00 PM. Once the solicitation is issued requests for information (RFIs) will be due on 9/11/17 with proposals due on 9/21/17. As you can see this is a very aggressive schedule and an award will be made by September 30, 2017. All solicitation packages and amendments must be accessed on line.
