- The Miami VA Medical Center, Miami, Florida has a requirement for Project 546-17-102 to Replace Remaining Hurricane Windows OOC, First Floor, Bldg. 1 per the drawings and specifications provided in the future solicitation. THIS SOLICITATION IS A 100% TOTAL SERVICE DISABLED VETERAN OWNED SMALL BUSINESS SET ASIDE (SDVOSB). PROPOSALS WILL ONLY BE CONSIDERED FROM SERVICE DISABLED VETERAN OWNED SMALL BUSINESSES THAT ARE VERIFIED IN VETBIZ AT THE TIME OF SUBMISSION OF PROPOSAL AND DATE OF AWARD in accordance with Public Law 109-461. Additionally, this acquisition will be conducted in accordance with FAR 15.101-1, Tradeoff Process, and a firm-fixed price construction contract is anticipated to be awarded to that responsible bidder whose bid, conforming to the statement of work and specifications, will be most advantageous to the Government, considering all evaluation factors other than cost or price, when combined, are significantly more important than cost or price. This project will replace the remaining windows/doors of the original 30+ year old windows of Buildings #1, and #10. It will address the replacement of approximate 195 existing windows and including some doors with hurricane windows This phase will continue with the window replacement from phase 1, 2, 3, 4, 5 and 6; ensuring the new windows/doors comply with nationally approved building code for hurricane windows and as used in Phases I thru VI. The windows shall meet the 150 mile per hour wind criteria established by industry standards. The Miami-Dade Product Control Notice of Acceptance (NOA) is required for this project. Work includes but it s not limited to: Construction activities as per provided final construction documents Contractor must: Coordinate all work with project COTR, have a General Contractors License, and be OSHA certified Provide a cost loaded schedule to COTR after issuance of NTP and before commencement of work. Secure area before commencement of work according to MVAMC Infection Control and Construction Policy requirements. Project Classification: Low Risk Group II, Type C. The project shall be phased from section to section to provide a minimum interruption to the medical center. The NAICS code is 236220/size standard is $36.5 million. Magnitude of Construction Cost range is $1,000,000 and $5,000,000. Solicitation VA248-17-R-1578 will issue and be posted to the Federal Business Opportunities (FBO) website on or about 8/30/17. A ONE-TIME organized pre-proposal site visit will be held at the Miami VA Medical Center, Conference Room # A118 on 9/5/17 at 10:30 am. Once the solicitation is issued requests for information (RFIs) will be due on 9/11/17 with proposals due on 9/21/17. As you can see this is a very aggressive schedule and an award will be made by September 30, 2017. All solicitation packages and amendments must be accessed on line. No Telephone request will be accepted.
