- Description
- THIS AMENDMENT EXTEND THE RFQ RESPONSE DATE TO 09/06/2017. NOTE: "THIS REQUIREMENT IS BEING PURCHASED USING FAR PART 36 IN CONJUNCTION WITH FAR PART 13, SIMPLIFIED ACQUISITION PROCEDURES. THIS REQUIREMENT WILL NOT EXCEED THE SIMPLIFIED ACQUISITION THRESHOLD. CONSTRUCTION IS NOT CONSIDERED COMMERICAL" QUESTIONS AND ANSWERS: 1) I see in the picture you have arrows pointing to the main support beams. I see that the post definitely need painted or replaced but what about the portion (truss) supporting the roof? It seems as if they are ok? Painting those would require taking the roof off. Answer to question: The roof cannot come off. All portions of the main support beams that are not in direct contact with the purlins should be painted. Please let me know if the contractor needs further explanation. 2) I am writing to request the blueprints for Building 13 at the Manchester Research Station, to aid us in preparing our bid. Please let me know if it will be possible to get a copy of these, hope you are having a good day. Answer to this question: At this point in time, after extensive searching, we have not been able to locate the blueprints for the building. We would have included them with the SOW if we had been able to locate them. 3) The statement of work Page 5 of 43, Tasks: For Line Item No. 0001: It says replace all base girts, base angles and base angle trim.... When we walked around the building we did not notice a base girt. Could you please clarify? The only girts we noticed where the lower and upper row girts. Answer to question: The contractor's should quote based on what was seen at the site visit. 4) Scope says to replace man doors with fiberglass equivalents. The existing man door frames are rusted. Will the existing man door frames get replaced with fiberglass equivalents? Answer to question: The man door frames should be replaced with Butler acrylic-coated, G-90 galvanized door frames. 5) What are the dimensions of the existing 2-man door? Answer to question: Both existing man doors are approximately 36 inches wide and approximately 83 inches tall. 6) In regards to the last option of painting the main support beams: It looks like all of the main support beams are ok except for the first 2 feet from the ground. Would you be willing to accept an offer for the last option to paint only the first 2 feet of the posts? Answer to question: Line Item No. 0005-OPTION LINE ITEM stands as described in RFQ
