Description
Solicitation and Quotation Requirements The Air Force Institute of Technology (AFIT) has a requirement for a 6 degree-of-freedom (6-axis) force and torque transducer for time-accurate force and torque measurements occurring in AFIT's wind tunnel testing model. The sensor must be capable of measuring force in three mutually perpendicular axes, while simultaneously measuring torque about the same three mutually perpendicular axes, while meeting the following performance requirements: A. 6-component force and torque transducer. B. Force sensor range must be at least 20 lbf in two axes and 40 lbf in the third axis. C. Force sensor must be accurate to within 0.40 lbf. D. Torque sensor range must be 36 in-lbf for two axes and 20 in-lbf for the third axis. E. Torque sensor must be accurate to within 0.60 in-lbf F. Instrument must be suitable for time-accurate data collection at a rate of at least 2500 Hz. G. The resonance frequency associated with each measurement component must be greater than 4800 Hz. H. Interface board and power supply must be provided. I. Sensor body diameter must be no greater than 27 mm. J. Sensor body height must be no greater than 20 mm. K. The sensor weight must be less than 0.050 kg. L. Cable must extend from the rear of the sensor, with a minimum length of 1.8m. M. Transducer output shall be selectable from -5 to +5 Volts, or -10 to +10 Volts. N. Transducer output shall be compatible with a differential input to the data acquisition system (LabView). O. The output impedence of each data acquisition signal should be 100 Ohms. P. Delivery should occur within 4 weeks after vendor receives the order. Q. All technical, operating and maintenance manuals must be provided upon delivery.
