Description
The United States Army Corps of Engineers (USACE) Engineering Research and Development Center - Construction Engineering Research Laboratory (ERDC-CERL) in Champaign, IL has a requirement to purchase a one (1) year preventative maintenance agreement for MTS equipment. The maintenance agreement is to include maintenance on the vibration table, 100 kip load frame, 1,000 kip load frame, hydraulic pumps and oil, accumulators, accelerometers, linear variable displacement transducers, load cells, and extensiometers. Market research has found that MTS Systems Corporation is the manufacturer this equipment. They are the only entity who can provide maintenance for their "one-of-a-kind" turnkey engineered system located at ERDC-CERL. MTS Systems Corporation has the proprietary knowledge of the system operations and software that is needed to perform the preventative maintenance. ERDC-CERL intends to award a purchase order on a sole source basis to MTS Systems Corporation in accordance with FAR 13.106-1(b)(1). The associated North American Industry Classification System (NAICS) code is 334516 which has a size standard of 1,000 employees. This is not a small business set aside.
