- The United States Marshal Services Security (USMS) has a verified need for a contractor to renovate and install a new ballistic rated screening station enclosure in the postal lobby of the Charles E. Chamberlain Federal Building & Post Office, 315 W. Allegan Street, Lansing, Michigan 48933. This project includes the renovation and installation of a new ballistic rated CSO Lobby screening station enclosure in the postal lobby of the Charles Chamberlain Federal Building. The intent of this project is to demolish the existing USMS Screening Station in the historic lobby, and furnish and install a new screening station the adjacent postal lobby. Contractor shall be responsible for providing adequate protection from construction to the public and employees in the building. Work will include exterior and interior build out of walls, ceilings, flooring openings, mechanical, lighting, power, plumbing and fire suppression systems, new communications/data wiring, security systems, new technologies and new furnishings. The contract completion time for this project is sixty (60) calendar days from receipt of notice to proceed. The estimated cost range is between $100,000 and $250,000. This is a negotiated, best value procurement. The contractor is to provide all management, supervision, manpower, equipment and supplies necessary for this project. The North American Industry Classification System (NAICS) code for this procurement is 236220 with an average gross revenue of $36.5 million. The Request for Proposal will be issued on or about September 21st, 2017. A site visit is tentatively planned for October 4th, 2017. The solicitation cited above can only be obtained by accessing a secure website knows as FedBizOpps (Federal Business Opportunities). This is a secure website designed to safeguard sensitive but unclassified (SBU) acquisition information. It is fully integrated with other electronic government initiatives such as the System for Award Management (SAM), and is available for use by all Federal agencies.
