- DUR DOL FIXED SPEED VERTICAL TURBINE REPAIR PROJECT DESCRIPTION AND PURPOSE: The Bureau of Reclamation, Upper Colorado Region, Western Colorado Area Office, utilizes the Dolores Water Conservancy District to operate the Dolores Project for the Bureau of Reclamation, providing seasonal, pressurized irrigation to over 60,000 acres in southwest Colorado. Six pumping plants located along the Dove Creek and South Canals, northwest of Cortez, CO, draw and pressurize water from the canals for irrigation to the surrounding area. Five of these pumping plants “ Cahone, Dove Creek, Fairview, Pleasant View, and Ruin Canyon “ contain a number of vertical turbine pumps with approximately 50,000 operating hours. The objective of this project is to rebuild/overhaul and recondition these pumps, 16 in total, to an as-new condition, which will occur over the next three years, between the months of October and April. The intent of this contract is to procure all the major hydraulic repairs and equipment needed for complete rebuild/overhaul. Supply the services and equipment required for the Dolores Project Pumping Plants Vertical Turbine Pump rebuild/overhaul, CRSP, in Montezuma County Colorado, in accordance with contract provisions and clauses. COMPETITON: Solicitation No. R17PS01402 is anticipated to be a total small business Set-Aside. The requirement shall be procured in accordance with FAR 12, Acquisition of Commercial Items; & 13.5, Simplified Acquisition Procedures Test Program for Certain Commercial Items. NAICS CODE AND SIZE STANDARD: The NAICS Code for this requirement is 332710, Machine Shops, with a small business size standard of 500 employees. SOLICITATION RELEASE DATE: The release date for Solicitation No. R17PS001402 is anticipated to be September 18, 2017. Interested parties are encouraged to monitor this announcement for updates and the release of the solicitation documents.
