Description
Well #5 Specifications Well #1 Specifications Well #1 Diagram Question and Answers from Site Visit Conducted on 6 September 2017. 1. Question: Concerning Well #1, where the discharge head sits down on the base plate, is that base plate welded to the casing below the concrete floor ? I have attached a picture of both the discharge head and the casing below the concrete slab. We just need to see how the two are attached. Answer: The base plate is not welded to the concrete floor. It is attached by screws 2. Question: Are you wanting a VFD for this Pump for Well #1? Answer: No, we do not want a VFD 3. Question: Is it ok to remove the gate valve that is in the ground and cut the casing below the flange that attaches to the gate valve and weld pipe and extend the casing all the way up to the new flange that the new discharge head will be bolting to? Answer: Do not remove gate valve. 4. Question: Will the power be temporary sealed/turned off while the work is being done? Since we will have a crane next to the power lines? Answer: Yes, the power will be turned off. The contractor must contact the program manager at the Civil Engineering Squadron to have power cut off from the site. No work can be done until verification that power has been shut down for safety reasons. Also see attachments on Specifications for both Well#1 and Well #5, as well as a diagram of Well#1
