Description
SOLICITATION NUMBER: W81XWH17T0310 NOTICE TYPE: Special Notice SUBJECT: Impact of Transport Forces and Immobilization Practices on Patient Physiology SYNOPSIS: This is a NOTICE OF INTENT TO AWARD A SOLE SOURCE CONTRACT. The U.S. Army Medical Research Acquisition Activity (USAMRAA), on behalf of the US. Army Aeromedical Research Laboratory (USAARL) intends to solicit and negotiate with only one source, ActiBioMotion (ABM) located at 2500 Cross Park Road, E156Q, Coralville, IA 52241. NAICS Code 541712, Size Standard Size 1,000 employees, under citation 10 U.S.C 2304(c)(1), authority of Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) 6.302-1(a)(2)(iii)(A) and (B), for only one responsible source and no other supplies or services will satisfy agency requirements and that (1) substantial duplication of cost to the Government is not expected to be recovered through competition or (2) unacceptable delays in filling agency requirements, for the purposes of issuing a Firm-Fixed Price contract. The following services will be procured: The requirement is to continue investigating various factors that may affect biodynamic response of the supine human under whole body vibration and repeated shock. This includes providing Subject Matter Expertise (SME) to contribute toward the development of mathematical models that can be used to study vibration response of the supine human. The period of performance will be one base year and four option years. There are no solicitation documents available. Contractors interested in this requirement should submit a complete capability package within the closing date stated below. The package must provide clear and convincing evidence that they can meet the Government's requirement. All information shall be furnished at no cost or obligation to the Government. Responses must be received no later than 2:00 p.m., Eastern Daylight Time, 13 September 2017. Responses should be submitted electronically to sharon.r.smith.civ@mail.mil. This notice of intent is not a request for competitive proposals; however, the government will consider all responses received by the response date stated above. A determination by the Government not to compete this acquisition based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government. Information received will normally be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement. TELEPHONE REQUEST WILL NOT BE HONORED.
