Description
1. Description of supplies/services. Human serum based Quality Controls that are required in order to perform all of the Chemistry tests that we conduct for our beneficiaries every day. 2. Demonstration of contractor's unique qualifications. Bio-Rad is the only manufacturer who can provide us with the complete inventory of FDA approved liquid Chemistry controls for our VISTA analyzers. The acquisition and lot number tracking of these products is done with the UNITY software system which is the only one that has been approved by Naval Hospital Breme1ton's (NHB) Info1mation Management Department to be installed on our network. 3. Description of market research. Our market research has shown that other suppliers have similar products that are freeze dried and require special diluents in order to reconstitute them. These in comparison to Bio-Rad have a shorter shelf life which would require us to discard and reorder product on a more frequent basis at a greater cost to the command. Bio-Rad liquid controls have as much as a 3 year shelf life at 2-8 Celsius and the manufacturer is willing and able to sequester lot numbers for up to 2 years for our use. This would avoid the need for us to continually recalibrate and perform Quality Control testing for eve1y single analyte that we perform on our 2 VISTA analyzers. It is estimated that this would require an additional 2.5 FTEs per month in an already undermanned lab which could delay patient testing. 4. Delivery requirements. Delivery requirements set by manufacturer are 2"d day shipping to overnight due to sensitivity of material.
