- Description
- NSN Data Vendor Survey for information. DLA Aviation Richmond is in the process of conducting market research to solicit suggestions from Industry on groupings of items for award of an Indefinite Quantity Contract (IQC)* to improve supportability of items and provide savings to the warfighter. Ideally these groupings will be for 20 or more National Stock Numbers (NSNs). We are asking that you fill out this market survey to the best of your knowledge so that we can generate a realistic and beneficial solicitation. In addition, please complete Columns N-R of the attached spreadsheet. Column N may be used to indicate which items your company is interested in quoting. Column O may be used to indicate if you are quoting as a Manufacturer or a Distributor for that item. Column P may be used to indicate you consider the item to be Commercial (of the shelf, derivative, or of a type). Column Q may be used to signify items that are ideal candidates for grouping. A different letter of the alphabet should be used for each separate group. Column R may be used to indicate how you grouped the item (i.e. by Source of Supply, Component or Higher Level Assembly, by FSC, by Division, etc.). Column R may be used to indicate if the item is a candidate for Customer Direct (CD) or Depot Direct (DD) support as well as what capabilities for Stock, Storage, and Distribution your company may possess such as a commercial distribution and warehousing network for similar commercial items. Columns G and H indicate the data available from the Government. Please note the drawings are available from the Government for items with AMSC of G or Z. Request that you return the survey to Nicole Byrd via e-mail ( Nicole.Byrd@dla.mil ) by 13 October 2017. Please feel free to contact me via E-mail or telephone (804-279-2610) if you have any additional questions concerning this initiative. We sincerely appreciate your time, and thank you for providing this information. Please be advised, I have no authority to contractually bind or obligate the U.S. Government. My correspondence is for information gathering purposes and does not constitute a solicitation. * Indefinite Quantity Contract (IQC ): These contracts are intended for use with items for which recurring demands are anticipated, and as a means of reducing the time and expense required to solicit and make repetitive individual awards. Establishment of an IQC Contract (called a "Basic Contract") will permit future Purchase Requests to be awarded by issuing a delivery order against the basic contract. All terms, conditions, and pricing are negotiated/awarded up front with the basic, allowing the delivery order to be issued quickly. Most contract terms will be for a one (1) up to a three (3) year base with the possibility of two (2), up to four (4) option years. The items on the contract will be ordered on each delivery order (DO) within stated minimum and maximum quantities, and on an as needed basis. The delivery order quantities are estimated based on previous and forecasted demands.
