Description
Terrestrial Lidar Purchase The US Department of Agriculture, Agricultural Research Service in Boise ID has a requirement for a commercial available terrestrial lidar (light detection and ranging) system. The operating principle of these systems is analogous to radar but use laser and are much more accurate. Our primary application is for quantification of snow depth in test sites and experimental watersheds. Secondary applications are related to land form and vegetation distribution analysis. For the snow applications it is critical that relatively large areas, such as experimental watersheds, be surveyed quickly as snow conditions and weather change quickly during winter. RIEGL USA has a system and others commercial products will be consider if they can meet or exceed the characteristic below. There are three essential criteria. 1. The instrument must be capable of very long range measurements, about 4000 m. This is important because we need to survey relatively large areas and a long range means less instrument movement and instrument set up on site and easier spatial integration after data collection. 2. The instrument must be capable of rapid measurement rate, at least 30,000 Hz, or 30 kHz. This is important because it means that more sites can be measured in a day. 3. The laser be eye-safe so that people working on the surveys or observing activities do not suffer inadvertent eye damage from looking in to the instrument. The Riegl consists of 1. 3D Imaging Sensor, VZ-4000: 2. 36 MP Camera 3. RI Solve Single User License 4. Battery 5. Shipping case 6. Tripod 7. Tripod Rods qty 5 8. Targets qty 5 9. Fob Destination Interested are to complete and return the SF18 to the attention of Fred Gifford as listed in this notice with catalog literature of your product for our evaluation.
