Description
This is a combined synopsis/solicitation for commercial items prepared in accordance with the format in the Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) Subpart 12.6, as supplemented with additional information included in this notice. This announcement constitutes the only solicitation; quotes are being requested and a written solicitation will not be issued. The solicitation number for this acquisition is W912DQ-17-T-1009 and it is being issued as a Request for Quote (RFQ). The US Army Corp of Engineers, Kansas City District has a need for Chemical Control for Noxious weeds. Due to the use of irrigation water in Harlan County Reservoir finding a chemical to control Canada Thistle is limited. Some chemicals may control Canada thistle but will kill other desirable vegetation in the area. This type of kill results in loss of vegetation that provides erosion control and loss of desired species that can compete with Canada Thistle. This results in a significant increase in cost of weed management in future years. After extensive market research and contact with chemical companies, the chemical VASTLAN by Dow AgroSciences is the only chemical that is legally allowed in aquatic habitats and specifically targets Canada thistle and meets USACE needs. VASTLAN can be legally applied in the exposed lakebed to control of Canada Thistle, and allows other vegetation to live and compete against noxious weeds. Must be delivered to the US Army Corps of Engineers Harlan County Lake project by May 15, 2017. Delivery is required at Republican City, NE 68971. The NAICS is 325320. The System for Award Management (SAM) is a Federal Government owned and operated free web site that consolidates the capabilities in CCR, ORCA, you were previously registered in CCR and ORCA, your organizations Information is already in SAM.
