- RFI document The purpose of this RFI is to solicit statements of interest, conduct market research, as well as industry recommendations to further inform the IT-Division's User Support Department of industry best practices and vendor capabilities as it relates to AV and meeting support capabilities for LBNL AV meeting spaces. Specifically, the User Support Department desires to: 1. Improve the consistency of user experience between rooms by standardizing equipment, capabilities, and functionality in IT managed AV spaces; 2. Improve the ability to quickly train users in how IT managed AV spaces work; 3. Improve the ability for users to make use of AV audio, video and computer display capabilities as part of supporting their mission needs; 4. Make use of technologies that limit lock-in to specific vendor protocols and standards wherever possible or not necessary to meet points 1,2,3 above; 5. Improve AV room maintenance and long term support by selecting reliable capabilities, and developing a framework for long term support.
