Description
The Department of Interior, National Park Service, Grand Teton National Park, is seeking interested sources capable of supplying all labor, supervision, management, tools, materials, equipment, transportation and other items necessary to remove snow loads from various pitched roofs of park structures in the following, but not limited to, areas: Moose housing area, Beaver Creek housing area, Colter Bay housing area, and the Colter Bay Visitor Center. Snow removal shall be required on each listed building up to 3 times, each, during the winter months. Most roofs to be shoveled do not present a significant fall hazard due to the elevation from existing snow pack. Roofs are typically accessed with a standard extension ladder. The snow is to be removed from all of the roofs by using shovels and snow scoops. No other alternative methods for removal of snow from roofs will be considered. At times, the snow pack on park structures may exceed four feet of snow. These buildings may have built-up ice dams. The park is requesting that a minimum of four inches to six inches of snow pack be left on park structures after snow is removed. Crews shall dress and utilize personal protection equipment (PPE) suitable for extreme winter conditions while preforming these duties. Contractor shall be required to submit a safety plan including a fall safety and prevention plan, which shall be approved by the CO prior to starting work. Once snow is removed from structures and pushed on ground, this snow shall be removed from cleared entrances to maintain egress and from driveways.. If snow load is pressing against a structure's window, that snow shall be cleared away to prevent future cave-ins and/ or damage to the structure. The contract vehicle for this requirement may lead to a base plus four option year contract. The nature of the work requires the services to be performed during the winter months beginning in November through April. The average annual snowfall is 162.8 inches for this area of Northwest Wyoming.
