- Description
- The Library of Congress, Office of Contracting and Grants management, intends to award a contract to the National Recording Preservation Foundation. The Library's authority for such action is FAR 6.302-5 - Authorized or Required by Statute. The Library of Congress and the National Recording Preservation Foundation have a unique relationship established by Congress in 36 U.S.C. Chapter 1524, under which one purpose of the NRPF is "further the goals of the Library of Congress and the National Recording Preservation Board in connection with their activities under the National Recording Preservation Act of 2000 [2 U.S.C. 1701-43]." 36 U.S.C. 152402(2). The contract is for the preservation of culturally, historically or aesthetically significant recordings (or collections of recordings) found in libraries, archives, museums and historical societies throughout the United States.
