Description
The XM7104 Joint Assault Bridge (JAB) program is an Army and United States Marine Corps (USMC) joint interest program to replace the legacy M48/zM60 tank-based Armored Vehicle Launched Bridge (AVLB) system. The JAB system will be a fully-tracked armored combat engineer vehicle specifically designed to provide Armored Brigade Combat Teams assault bridging capabilities to support maneuver elements. JAB systems shall meet the specifications found in Automotive Tank Purchase Description (ATPD) 2402. The JAB is currently being produced under Contract W56HZV-16-C-0028. Army Contracting Command-Warren (ACC-WRN) intends to solicit a sole source firm-fixed price supply order for equipping the remaining JAB systems, up to 260 each, on Contract W56HZV-16-C-0028 with force protection improvements to the base chassis in accordance with the contract's terms and conditions. This action is supported by the statutory authority 10 U.S.C. 2304(c)(1), as implemented by Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) 6.302-1 - Only One Responsible Source and No Other Supplies or Services Will Satisfy Agency Requirements; specifically, FAR 6.302-1(a)(2)(ii)(A) and (B). The proposed contract action is for supplies for which the Government intends to solicit and negotiate with only one source, DRS Sustainment Systems, Inc. (CAGE CODE 98255) under FAR 6.302-1. In accordance with FAR 5.207(c)(16)(ii), all responsible sources may submit a capability statement, proposal, or quotation which shall be considered by the agency. SUBMIT ALL QUESTIONS VIA EMAIL TO CONTRACT SPECIALIST (add both names on the "to" line) KENNY J. DOUANGMALA @ Kenny.J.Douangmala.civ@mail.mil) and Shelia Couch @ shelia.a.couch.civ@mail.mil.
