Description
Sole Source Intent: The United States Army, Mission and Installation Contracting Command (MICC) Yuma Proving Ground, U.S. Army Yuma Proving Ground (USAYPG), Yuma, Arizona, intends to negotiate a firm-fixed price contract on a sole source basis with SSK Military Industries, Inc. located at 1008 Monroe Rd, Lebanon, OH 45036-1415. The resultant contract will be for a quantity of 15 each Cypres 2, part number AAD2C2M1535L. Pursuant to the Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) 13.106-1(b)(1)(i), the Contracting Officer may solicit from one source if the Contracting Officer determines that the circumstances of the contract action deem only one source reasonably available. USAYPG requires a quantity of 15 each, Cypres 2 parachute AAD. The required items are life support equipment that activate a paratrooper's reserve parachute in case of an emergency. The requiring activity is required to utilize AADs authorized for use on the US Special Operations Command, Premediated Air Drop Systems Approved and Authorized Use List for military free fall equipment. Currently, the only authorized AAD is the Cypres-2, which is only manufactured by SSK Military Industries, Inc. This requirement will be procured using the acquisition procedures in Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) Part 13 Simplified Acquisition Procedures. The North American Classification System (NAICS) code is 334511 - Search, Detection, Navigation, Guidance, Aeronautical, and Nautical System and Instrument Manufacturing. THIS NOTICE OF INTENT IS NOT A REQUEST FOR COMPETITIVE PROPOSALS. A determination by the Government not to compete this proposed contract based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government. In order to protect proprietary information and prevent the unintentional releasing of guarded information all interested firms must conduct their own research regarding the specifications of the above listed requirement. If you feel your firm possesses the ability to meet these requirements, then you must respond by demonstrating your firm's technical capability to meet these requirements no later than 08:00 AM MST 18 September 2017 to facsimile (928) 328-6534.
