Description
Financial Information for Revenue Producing Uses Sample Offeror Transmittal Letter ID and Credit Information for Corp LLC ID and Credit Information for Individual and Partnership RFP to lease Marie Zimmermann House The primary objective is to ensure preservation of the parks most valued historical structures through use as an accessible, safe and fully functional facility/operation.The Lease Premises - Marie Zimmermann House A. Property Description Marie Zimmermann House is a historic home located in the Delaware Water Gap National Recreation Area at Delaware Township, Pike County, Pennsylvania. It was built about 1910, and is a large 2 1/2-story, fieldstone dwelling with a gambrel roof and large dormers. It has a two-story, stone rear wing with a steep gable roof. At the intersection of the main house and wing is a round two-story tower, giving the house a French Provincial style. The house is set in a farm complex with two large frame barns, a smaller frame house, and associated outbuildings. It was the home of noted artist Marie Zimmermann (1879-1972). The farm was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1979. The 2 1/2 story home features 9 bedrooms, 3 bathrooms and approximately 6,400 square feet. The original complex consisting of the house and several outbuildings has not been substantially altered, thus retains the architectural design and historic integrity of an early gentleman's farm. Restoration of the site has been completed, and continues to be worked on, by park staff through one million dollars appropriated by Congress for capital improvements including repair of the slate roof, removal of asbestos, window and door repairs, installation of accessible ramp, and installation of a whole house geothermal heating and cooling system. The site has many opportunities for enjoying natural and cultural resource based activities.
