Description
Washington Homeland Security Roundtable launches The Coast Guard Industry Academy in collaboration with the U.S. Coast Guard. WHSR will host the Inaugural Session November 13-15, 2017, at United States Coast Guard HQ, Washington, DC. The Washington Homeland Security Roundtable (WHSR) announces the creation of the Coast Guard Industry Academy. The Coast Guard Industry Academy is an unprecedented, in-depth program designed to strengthen Industry collaboration and knowledge of the Coast Guard mission. The program consists of quarterly sessions over a one-year period, which are: the opening session at Coast Guard Headquarters in Washington, DC, three sessions at selected Coast Guard facilities along the East and West Coasts, the Gulf of Mexico, and the concluding session at Coast Guard Headquarters in Washington, DC. U.S. Coast Guard Officers and Senior Leadership at the initial meeting will open dialogue and participate in several discussions over the three-day session, focusing on major strategic initiatives including: Securing Maritime Borders, Facilitating Commerce, Maritime Security and Counterterrorism, Inland Waterways, Sovereignty and Presence in Polar Regions, and Acquisitions. The goal is to start the Coast Guard Industry Academy with Senior Industry Executives who maintain a broad organizational authority and responsibility that can share comprehensive Industry knowledge and are able to disseminate Coast Guard information back across their organization. The one-year program is organized such that USCG knowledge and understanding is built with each successive quarterly session. The preliminary schedule is below: Quarterly Session Dates November 13-15, 2017: USCG HQ, Baltimore (Coast Guard Yard, Sector Maryland-National Capital Region) January 22-26, 2018: District 11 - Petaluma (Training Center) and Alameda (PACAREA, District 11 HQ, Base), CA Mid April TBD, 2018: District 5 - Yorktown (Training Center), Portsmouth (District 5 HQ), VA, and Elizabeth City (Air Station), NC Late July TBD, 2018: Districts 13 and 17 - Seattle (District 13 HQ) and Juneau (District 17) and Kodiak (Base, Air Station), AK Late Sept TBD, 2018: Districts 1 and 5 - New London (CG Academy), CT, and Cape May (Training Center), NJ Mid Oct TBD, 2018: District 5 - USCG HQ (one day) Conclusion of Program Participation Details The Coast Guard Industry Academy is reserved for 50 Industry Senior Executives at the level of VP (or commensurate title) and above.
