Description
Anniston Army Depot (ANAD) is seeking eligible contractors to chip untreated wood compiled from damaged shipping crates, skids, broken palettes and other miscellaneous wood scrap collected from various pick-up points on Depot. Wood is collected at an average rate of 417,593 pounds per month. Eligible sources must be equipped with mobile or portable grinding equipment with the capability to chip wood into two-inch pieces and the capability to draw out loose hardware and similar items such as screws, nails and metal brackets. Government equipment will not be furnished for this effort. This Sources Sought Notice is for market research purposes only and is not a request for competitive proposals. The Government is under no obligation to issue a solicitation or to award a contract related to this project. However, all responses received by the close of this notice will be considered by the Government. Prior to the close of this notice, site visits to the wood yard may be arranged at the source's request. All interested and responsible sources may provide capability statements in response to this notice. Responses should include: Prospective firm's name, address, phone number, socioeconomic status (small business/women owned/8A, etc.) and DUNS number General information about the firm's previous related experience and/or ability to perform the work described in this notice. Prospective firm's grinding equipment/engine specifications (This information will be used to verify compliance with environmental and emissions regulations prescribed by the Alabama Department of Environmental Management).
