Description

INTENT TO SOLE SOURCE This synopsis is notification that Network Contracting Office (NCO) 7-Tuscaloosa VA Medical Center, intends to solicit from and award a Firm Fixed Priced (FFP) Contract, on a Sole Source basis; under the authority of FAR 13.106, from only one responsible source, Door Control Services, Inc. The VA Engineering Service seeks testing and troubleshooting of an existing alarm system at the Tuscaloosa VA Medical Center, commissioning documents, written report and digital test file. Door Control Services, Inc. is the owner and manufacturer of the existing system -Top Door Alarm system and it is an effective deterrent device that alert caregivers to the potential acts of suicide. This notice of intent to award a sole source contract is not a request for competitive quotes. There will be no solicitation available for competitive quotes. Any response to this notice must show clear and convincing evidence that competition would be advantageous to the Government. If no affirmative written responses are received by 4:00 PM CST, Monday, September 25, 2017, an award will be made without further notice. A determination by the Government not to open the requirement to competition based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government. Phone calls will not be accepted. All responses must be made in writing and directed to Brenda Carter @ Brenda.Carter6@va.gov.
