Description
STATEMENT OF WORK: The Corporal Michael J. Crescenz VA Medical Center is in need of a new photocoagulation laser to replace the existing laser that is 10+ years old. The vendor must provide brand name equipment and be willing to provide a trade in for the existing equipment located in the outpatient clinic. The laser must be a multi-wavelength laser on the market and compatible with a wide variety of accessories and delivery devices meeting the needs of the outpatient ophthalmology clinic. The multi-wave photocoagulator must be modular and upgradable, user friendly and have Sure Spot Optics Technology. Light colors must be red, yellow and green. The accessories must include a table that is wheel chair compatible, new slip lamp, googles, laser signage, and array laser link. The vendor must provide onsite set-up, and training. Training must be provided over several workdays (Monday Friday) possibly not all during the same week in the outpatient ophthalmology clinic. Photocoagulators cauterize blood vessels with heat generated by a laser beam. The laser creates tiny contolled burns that create adhesive forming scar tissue. The VA has a large retina service that treats a multitude of pathology but not limited to: Proliferative diabetic retinopathy, retinopathy of prematurity, retinal tears and detachments, branch retinal vein occlusion, and choroidal neovascularization with the laser. It is imperative that the clinic have a laser that operates efficiently and safely for staff and patients. Laser is a class Four laser Delivery: Corporal Michael J.
