Description
Specification Plans The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Galveston District Office requires a contract for the Gulf Intracoastal Waterway (GIWW), Texas, Chocolate Bayou Placement Area 1A - Final Cells Containment Dike Construction in Brazoria County, Texas. The work consists of rock structures containment dikes and earthen dike. All work is in open water impacted by sever tidal conditions with depths ranging from 2 to 10 feet. Access by flotation channel is permitted in designated areas since depths varies between 2 - 10 feet of water. Schedule No. 1 consists of stone break water proximate height of 13 feet from Station 44+00 to 101+85.88, which shall include, but is not limited to, the costs of foundation preparation, geogrid, geotextile, backfill or excavation, placement and final preparation; elevation surveys; furnishing and transporting surveys for acceptance; and cleanup. Corrective actions during this contract that are required to address deficiencies in the initial construction will be included in this price. Option No. 1 includes planting of Spartina Alterniflora plugs 6 rows /3 feet spacing for 2,200 linear feet and trapezoidal earthen dike 3 feet elevation with 15 feet crown to include foundation preparation from Station 0+00 to 44+00; Completion time for Schedule No. 1 is 180 calendar days and 60 calendar days for the Option if exercised. If the contractor fails to complete the work within the time specified, the contractor shall pay liquidated damages to the Government in the amount of $1,330.00 for each calendar day of delay until the work is completed or accepted. The estimated award date for this project is November 2017. The Solicitation issued will be Firm Fixed Price. The magnitude of this project is between $5,000,000.00 and $10,000,000.00. The solicitation is advertised as "Unrestricted" full and open competition for both large and small businesses. The Solicitation will be issued on or about 26 September 2017.
