- Description
- The Naval Air Systems Command (NAVAIR) awarded a sole source, Cost Plus Fixed Fee Order N0001917F0067 to Basic Ordering Agreement N00019-16-G-0005 to General Electric, Lynn, MA for the procurement of non-recurring engineering studies to assess how to upgrade the F414-GE-400 engine and improve engine performance as well as F/A-18 E/F &E/A-18G aircraft performance. This acquisition was pursued on a sole-source basis under statutory authority of Title 10, U.S.C. Section 2304(c)(1), as implemented by Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) 6.302-1, "Only one responsible source and no other supplies or services will satisfy agency requirements." A determination by the Government not to compete this effort is solely within the discretion of the Government. This effort is covered under the Justification and Approval (J&A) number J&A_17_0167, dated 30 June 2017.
