- Description
- This action was awarded as an 8(a) Sole Source Set-Aside under the authority of section 8(a) of the Small Business Act. The contractor shall furnish all parts, material, labor, equipment and supervision necessary to complete the work for Building 20201 HVAC and Window Installation. 2. SPECIFIC REQUIREMENTS: a. Equipment requirements. 1. Install auxiliary air conditioning units to sufficiently cool B8 and B9 (user request split units sized 3ton or greater (1 in B9 and 2 in B8). 2. Pull power from existing MDP to feed the HVAC units. 3. Contractor shall core drill 2-3" holes for a 2-1/2" conduit 4. Contractor shall purchase and install a 75kva transformer (ceiling mounted) to feed a contractor purchased and installed 225A panel and 225A disconnect. 5. Contractor may need to move the existing PIR approximately 2' south to provide the appropriate clearance. 6. Add electrical outlets to several rooms per attached diagram. 7. Add grills to windows adjacent to security doors at first and second floor building entrances. Grills must be made of 9-gauge expanded steel; a deviation of ½ inch in vertical and/or horizontal space is permissible. Grills must match those already installed in first floor entrance (16 total grills) b. Modify room B-8. 1. Air conditioning. Contractor will install auxiliary air conditioning unit (2 split units at 3 ton or greater capacity) to provide sufficient cool air to counter the increased heat generated by new communications and electronics equipment as stated in the equipment requirements above. 2. Electrical outlets. Install 5 additional electrical outlets (four-plex type), 4 on west wall and 1 on east wall. The outlets will be placed above the cubicle tiles. c. Modify room B-9. 1. Air conditioning. Contractor will install auxiliary air conditioning unit (1 split unit at 3 ton or greater capacity)to provide sufficient cool air to counter the increased heat generated by new communications and electronics equipment as stated in the equipment requirements above. 2. Electrical outlets. Install 4 additional electrical outlets (four-plex type), two on north wall, and 2 on south wall. The outlets will be placed above the cubicle tiles. D. Modify room B-4. 1. Install 1 additional electrical outlet (four-plex type) on south wall. The outlet will be placed above the cubicle tiles. E. Modify Basement Conference room 1. Install 2 additional electrical outlets (four-plex type), 1 on east wall, and 1 on south wall. The outlets will be placed at standard height commensurate with existing outlets. F. Modify 1st and 2nd floor Entrances 1. Add grills to windows adjacent to security doors at first and second floor building entrances as stated in equipment requirements above. Grills must be made of 9-gauge expanded steel; a deviation of ½ inch in vertical and/or horizontal space is permissible. a. Add 6 grills to first floor entrance (see attached photos) b. Add 10 grills to second floor entrance (see attached photos) G. Facility HVAC Test and Balance 1. Provide a complete HVAC test of all three floors of bldg. 20201, after the completion of power and HVAC upgrades. Upon completion of HVAC system testing, perform actions necessary to balance airflow throughout the facility, to improve HVAC system performance and distribute airflow effectively.
