- Description
- This action was awarded as an 8(a) Sole Source Set-Aside under the authority of section 8(a) of the Small Business Act. The contractor shall furnish all parts, material, labor, equipment and supervision necessary to complete the work for PDC Building 465 Clearing & Landscaping. The primary purpose of this project is to repair damages to infrastructure at WSMR caused by flooding on 28 July, 2017. The specific tasks that shall be required for the proposed repairs are listed and described in the following. Complete descriptions and guidelines related to each task are contained in the New Mexico Department of Transportation (NMDOT) Standard Specifications for Highway and Bridge Construction 2014 Edition. a.Demolition 1.Clearing and Grubbing: This work consists of clearing, grubbing, scalping, removing, and disposing of vegetation, deposited sediment, and debris. This work also includes protecting vegetation designated to remain and removal or control of all State-listed noxious weed species identified in the contract. Scalping includes the removal of material such as brush, roots, sod, stumps, and the residue of agricultural crops. 2.Gravel and Rip Rap Removal: This work consists of removing existing crusher-fine gravel and rip rap as designated on the project exhibit. This work also includes removing any existing damaged geotextile fabric. 3.Portland Cement Concrete (PCC) Removal: This work consists of removing portions of PCC sidewalk as designated on the project exhibit. Locate and remove any loose, spalled, deteriorated, and delaminated concrete, stone, or other substrate caused during the removal process. Do not damage areas of sound concrete or reinforcing steel not-to-be removed during operations. b.New Construction 1.Excavation and Backfill for Minor Structures: This work consists of excavating, placing, compacting select backfill, and disposing of material related to construction of sidewalks, ADA ramps, curb and gutter, and other minor structures. 2.Subgrade Preparation: This work consists of compacting and finishing the subgrade. 3.Linear Grading, Blading and Reshaping: This work consists of constructing, or restoring and shaping the areas indicated on the project exhibit to match existing grades. 4.Landscape Gravel Mulch Placement: This work consists of placing landscape gravel mulch (crusher-fines) as indicated on the project exhibit, gravel gradation and color should match existing. 5.Gravel Filter Placement: This work consists of placing 4"-6" cobbles as an erosion control structure at the entrances of drainage to reduce velocity, i.e. curb cuts, downspouts...etc. 6.Weed Control Geotextile Filter Fabric: This work consists of placing weed control geotextiles between landscape gravel (i.e. crusher-fines) and the in situ soil to prevent soil loss resulting in excessive scour. 7.Portland Cement Concrete (PCC): This work also consists of developing, submitting and getting approval to use PCC mix designs on WSMR Projects. This work also consists of placing Type V Portland Cement Concrete (PCC) for construction of concrete structures. 8.Sidewalks, Drive Pads, and Concrete Curb and Gutter: This work consists of constructing Sidewalks, drive pads, detectable warning surfaces, and concrete curb and gutter in accordance with NMDOT Standard Specifications for Highway and Bridge Construction 2014 Edition and the Americans with Disabilities Act of 1990. 9.Sealing and Resealing Concrete Pavement Joints: This work consists of cleaning, priming, and sealing concrete pavement joints. This work also consists of removing joint sealant, sawing, cleaning, priming, and resealing joints. Seal only joints between adjacent PCC surfaces.
