Description
This action was awarded as an 8(a) Sole Source Set-Aside under the authority of section 8(a) of the Small Business Act. This action was awarded as an 8(a) Sole Source Set-Aside under the authority of section 8(a) of the Small Business Act. 2. SPECIFIC REQUIREMENTS: a.Demolition 1.Contractor shall remove and dispose of a single stone of curb and gutter. Concrete shall be stockpiled at the asphalt and concrete recycling area shown on the contract drawings. 2.Contractor shall remove and dispose of approximately 50 square yards of pavement associated with the curb and gutter installation. Asphalt shall be stockpiled at the asphalt and concrete recycling area shown on the contract drawings. 3.Contractor shall remove and dispose of approximately 189 square feet of sediment and debris from the site. Such removals shall be as directed by the contracting officer and shall not exceed a depth of 2 feet. Sediment shall be disposed of off post at a contractor provided, government approved, disposal site. Debris shall be disposed of at the WSMR landfill as shown in the contract drawings. i.Sediment removal from the existing culvert shall be done in accordance with Specification 613 of the NM DOT Standard Specifications for Highway and Bridge Construction, 2014. b.New Construction 1.Contractor shall replace 50 square yards of new pavement associated with the curb and gutter installation per details included in the contract drawings. 2.Contractor shall install 226 linear feet of new curb and gutter per NM DOT Standard Drawings 609-01-1/1 and NM DOT Specification 609. Match existing curb and gutter dimensions and match lip of gutter pan to existing curb flowline on either side. 3.Contractor shall install a new 150 square yards 4" thick sidewalk per NM DOT Standard Drawings 609-01-1/1 and NM DOT Specification 608. i.Provide 12" subgrade prep ii.Provide 30 cubic yards of imported fill material compacted to 95% density per ASTM D 1557. iii.Install three (3) new sidewalk drains as indicated on the drawings. The sidewalk drains shall be built so they drain into the proposed riprap swale shown in the plans. The point at which the swale abuts the sidewalk drains shall be constructed such that the flows originating from the drains do not escape from the swale. 4.Contractor shall install a new riprap swale as indicated on the drawings. i.The swale shall generally follow the existing erosion scar shown in the site photos and tie into the existing culvert. The adjacent ground shall be graded to drain into the new riprap swale. ii.Provide 12" of subgrade prep. iii.Install 1650 square feet of new geotextile material per details in the contract drawings. iv.Install 64 cubic yards of Class B riprap per NM DOT Standard Specifications for Highway and Bridge Construction, 2014. 5.Contractor shall backfill and compact around the existing culvert and headwall at 95% density per ASTM 1557. Fill material shall be provided by the contractor and shall come from a contractor provided, government approved, borrow site. Use of flowable fill shall be acceptable in cases where mechanical compaction methods are not likely to be effective. If using flowable fill, the contractor shall follow Specification 516 of the NM DOT Standard Specifications for Highway and Bridge Construction, 2014. The contractor shall also provide a minimum of 2" of native soil over the top of the flowable fill. No portion of the flowable fill shall be visible. 6.Contractor shall perform approximately 4420 square yards of minor grading within the project boundary areas to include excavation, hauling, placement, and compaction of up to 2 feet of depth. Specific areas to receive this minor grading shall be determined by the contracting officer or his/her representative. There will be no import of new material. Grading shall address surface scour and rilling as indicated on the drawings. All grading shall meet NM DOT Standard Specifications for Highway and Bridge Construction, 2014, and shall be compacted to 95% density per ASTM D 1557. Clearing and grubbing shall be included.
