Description
IFB_DACA65-B-18-02 The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers is offering for sale six (6) items of timber on approximately Seven Hundred Twelve (712) acres total located within Fort Drum, Jefferson County, NY of which approximately the following volumes to be harvested: The Items 1,2,3,4,& 6 are being sold per unit harvested timber will be sold by WEIGHT & Fort Drum sliding scale for sawlogs. Item 5 is being sold LUMP SUM. ITEM 1 (TA 7C) - Harvest Dates 15 October 2017 - 15 April 2018 •Trees to be harvested are marked with BLUE paint. •Landing size and location will be designated by forester •Protected cultural resources sites (if present) are identified for avoidance. ITEM 2 (TA 7G) - Harvest Dates 15 October 2017 - 15 April 2018 •Trees to be cut and removed are marked with BLUE paint. •Landing size and location will be designated by forester •Protected cultural resources sites (if present) are identified for avoidance. ITEM 3 (TA 14E) - Harvest Dates 15 October 2017 - 15 April 2018 and/or 15 October 2018-15 April 2019 (2 year contract) •Strip Clearcut area boundaries will be marked with blue Timber Harvest Boundary flagging. All woody stems within the flagged area are to be cut and removed. •Block Clearcut area boundaries will be marked with blue Timber Harvest Boundary flagging. All woody stems within the flagged area are to be cut and removed. •Thinning/Hardwood removal area boundaries will be marked with blue Timber Harvest Boundary flagging. All hardwood trees (1" DBH and greater) will be cut and removed (not marked). All conifer trees marked with BLUE paint will be cut and removed. •Landing size and location will be designated by forester •Protected cultural resources sites (if present) are identified for avoidance. ITEM 4 (TA 14B) - Harvest Dates 15 October 2017 - 15 April 2018 and/or 15 October 2018-15 April 2019 (2 year contract) •Trees to be harvested are marked with BLUE paint. •Landing size and location will be designated by forester •Protected cultural resources sites (if present) are identified for avoidance. ITEM 5 (Airfield) - Harvest Dates 15 October 2017 - 15 April 2018 •Trees to be harvested are not marked. Remove all woody stems from designated harvest area •Stumps must be cut as close to the ground as possible and will not exceed 4" in height •Multiple landings will be required (2-3) due to Airfield infrastructure •Protected cultural resources sites (if present) are identified for avoidance. ITEM 6 (TA 8C) - Harvest Dates 15 October 2017 - 15 April 2018 •Trees marked with ORANGE paint will be left. All unmarked trees (1" DBH and greater) will be cut and removed. •Landing size and location will be designated by forester Protected cultural resources sites (if present) are identified for avoidance.  The above items are available for inspection by appointment ONLY until close of business October 27, 2017.
