- Description
- Carbon Dioxide Removal Assembly Blower NASA seeks to procure a next-generation blower system (controller/motor/blower) for a carbon dioxide (CO2) removal assembly (CDRA) aboard future inhabited space vehicles. The blower would be a subcomponent of a larger system that processes the cabin air to remove carbon dioxide and return breathable air to the inhabited regions of a space vehicle. This Request For Information (RFI) is the first stage of procurement that seeks to inform potential bidders of the performance requirements of such a blower, as well as gather feedback as to the state of commercial capability to respond to a procurement request. It is anticipated that feedback from respondents to this RFI along with NASA's own input will be rolled into an eventual Request For Quotation (RFQ) for ground test blower units. It is unknown at this time what the RFQ will contain, but it is possible that more than one design would be considered depending on the responses received and the available schedule and budget.
