- General Information Document Type: Expression of Interest Solicitation Number: IWTU-212399 Posted Date: 10/04/2017 Response Date: 10/12/2017 Intent: Respond with your interest in the Statement of Work, and provide your capabilities. Contracting Office Fluor Idaho, LLC, 1580 Sawtelle Street, Idaho Falls, ID 83401 Subject - Idaho Cleanup Project Integrated Waste Treatment Unit The solicitation will fall under one or more of the following North American Industry Classification System (NAICS) Codes: 212319 (other crushed or broken stone mining & quarrying), 212399 (Construction Sand Mining) or 212399 (other non-metallic Mining). The stated size shall be the sole determining factor as to classification (small or large business.) Company Overview Fluor Idaho manages and operates the U.S. Department of Energy's Idaho Cleanup Project (ICP) located on the Idaho National Laboratory (INL). Fluor Idaho is committed to meeting all of the ICP's technical and regulatory requirements to safely retrieve, characterize, treat and package nuclear waste for shipment out of Idaho to permanent disposal at the Waste Isolation Pilot Plant in New Mexico. Fluor's administrative office is located in Idaho Falls, ID. Work Description Fluor Idaho, a Prime Contractor for the United States Department of Energy (DOE), at the INL, is seeking expressions of interest from qualified companies for crushing ¼"- ½" calcined coal to 1/8" - ¼" and separate residue less the 1/8". Total volume could range from 250,000 lb (125 tons) to 400,000 lbs (200 tons). •· Provide schedule to show amount of time required to size reduce the calcined coal. Provide separate estimates for both the 250,000 lb (125 ton) and 400,000 lb (200 ton) quantities. •· Plans for shipping the size reduced calcined coal back to Fluor Idaho, LLC once it has been size reduced. Preferred method is to send in batches, if that helps the schedule. If this is amenable, include estimates on when size-reduced batches could start being returned to Fluor Idaho, LLC. What the periodic schedule for such returns would be, and the mass quantities of each return. •· A estimate of cost to do the calcined coal size reduction. •· An estimate of waste resulting from the size reduction. A strong desire to minimize fine losses as much as possible (i.e., so that the amount of "¼-in. to ½-in." coal required to produce a desired amount of "1/8-in. to ¼-in." coal is minimized).
