This is NOT a solicitation for proposals, proposal abstracts or quotations. This notice does not obligate the Government to award a contract or otherwise pay for the information provided in the response. Respondents are advised that the Government is under no obligation to acknowledge receipt of the information received or provide feedback to respondents with respect to any information submitted. The Government reserves the right to use information provided by respondents for any purpose deemed necessary and legally appropriate. The Department of Health and Human Services, Program Support Center, in support of the Joint Service Provider (JSP), Department of Defense (DoD), announces that JSP will host a Reverse Industry Day event for JSP staff on 26-27 October 2017, at the Pentagon located in Arlington, VA. Please note that this is not a traditional industry engagement event where the audience will be comprised primarily of industry attendees. The audience for this inaugural Reverse Industry Day will be made up primarily of government attendees. PURPOSE: The intent of this notice is to inform the public of internal activities the JSP is implementing to foster greater collaboration with our industry partners and improve how JSP can successfully implement a Software Defined Network (SDN) solution and modernize the DoD network. REQUIREMENT: JSP seeks a holistic solution that will modernize the Pentagon network infrastructure. The goal is to simplify, flatten, and optimize the network topology, design, and operations through use of virtualization, routing and orchestration techniques. JSP is intent on dramatically decreasing time to market and operational overhead while increasing network efficiency, sustainability, agility, flexibility, performance, and responsiveness. Additionally, JSP must harden the network against an ever-change threat environment and protect the DoD from state and non-state actors intent on disrupting mission operations and the defense of our nation. Presently, JSP believes that a SDN solution is the optimal way to meet the aforementioned requirement, but is open to interested and alternative solutions as well for this market research phase. SUBMISSION INFORMATION: If your company is interested in presenting to the JSP on how a SDN solution can be implemented within the DoD, please complete the information below and read the attach document for further administrative information. Additionally, please respond with a capability statement outlining your SDN capability offering and how you've implemented SDN in the past within the Government space. Responses may not exceed 5 pages excluding the cover page. Each response should include the following information: 1. Company Name 2. Company Address 3. Company Point of Contact, Phone and Email address 4. Cage Code 5. Type of Company (i.e., other than small business, small business, etc.) Responding to this notice does not preclude participation in a future request for proposals, if one is issued.
