Description of Work: Replacing drainage trough system below finger type expansion joints on bridge approach spans. Existing drainage trough system consists of a semicircular asbestos cement pipe with a canvas flap draped down into it to catch runoff that passes through the finger joint above. The semicircular pipe is supported by metal brackets that are welded to the end floor beams of each span. The canvas flap is clamped between the bottom flange of a diaphragm and a clamp angle. The pipe, canvas, and pipe brackets will all be demolished and a new drainage trough system will be installed. Drainage troughs are accessible from below using a man lift to reach the tops of the piers and standing between the end floor beams. When possible, all work should be done from below to mitigate the need for a lane closure on the bridge.  Additional work includes miscellaneous steel repairs and retrofitting sliding plate type joint on sidewalk with a watertight foam expansion joint
