- Page 1 of 2 SOURCES SOUGHT This is not a solicitation announcement. This is a sources sought synopsis only. The purpose of this is to gain knowledge of potential qualified sources and their size relative to NAICS 238220. Responses will be used by the Government to make appropriate acquisition decisions. Responses are not considered responses to any potential solicitation announcement. All interested firms shall provide the following information: Company name, Address, Point of Contact, Telephone number, Email address, Capability statement, Business size, DUNS and GSA contract (if any) pursuant to the NAICS code 238220. Responses to this notice shall be e-mailed to jeneice.mcclinton@va.gov. Telephone responses will not be accepted. Responses shall be received in writing no later than Wednesday, October 11, 2017 at 11 a.m. This notice is to assist the VA in determining sources only. A solicitation is not currently available. If a solicitation is issued it will be announced at a later date, and all interested parties shall respond to that solicitation announcement separately from the responses to this announcement. Responses are not a request to be added to a prospective bidders list or to receive a copy of the solicitation. Scope of Work The Contractor shall repair 23 pneumatic damper actuators to normal operation in accordance with NFPA 80 and NFPA 105. Damper list and locations provided by Contracting Officer Representative (COR) upon commencement of services. Simple repairs include determining if listed actuators have existing air tubing and pneumatic pressure available at the damper for repair. Where both tubing and pressure are available, the Contractor shall connect and secure existing air tubing to actuator; inspect and operate damper for normal operation. Where air tubing is available but pneumatic pressure is not, the Contractor shall determine that the airline is intact and connected to the Electronic to Pneumatic (EP) switch at the air handling unit (AHU) pneumatics control panel. If tubing is not intact or connected, connect to EP switch; inspect and operate damper for normal operation. Comprehensive repairs include routing air tubing and restoring pneumatic pressure to the damper actuators: Where air tubing is not available, the Contractor shall route new air tubing from the EP switch to the failed actuator; inspect and operate damper for normal operation. The Contractor shall install new pneumatic tubing as to not impede on existing equipment operations or pose as a safety hazard. Where EP switch is not available, the Contractor shall install compatible EP switch at the pneumatics control panel and connect existing or install new air tubing from EP switch to failed actuator; inspect and operate damper for normal operation. The Contractor shall inspect unforeseen repairs to include inoperable actuators after pneumatic pressure is restored: The Contractor shall remove and replace inoperable actuator; inspect and operate damper for normal operation. The Contractor shall provide a detailed report of actions and materials used for repairs on each damper. The Contractor report shall include evidence of inspection and normal operation of all repaired dampers in accordance with NFPA 105. If necessary, the Contractor shall provide an itemized report on dampers unable to repair to normal working conditions in accordance with this scope. The Contractor and personnel shall be certified to perform damper inspections in accordance with NFPA 80 and NFPA 105. The Contractor shall provide documentation of proof.
