Description
REQUEST FOR INFORMATION This is not a solicitation or Request for Quote/Proposal/Bid and no contract or purchase order will be awarded as a result of this notice. There is no solicitation or specifications available at this time. The Headquarters Marine Corps Installation and Logistics, Logistics Plans, Policies and Strategic Mobility Division, Logistics Distribution Policy Branch has a requirement for Household Goods (HHG) Transportation Service Providers (TSP) and technology developers to provide a marking, inventory, and near-real-time tracking capability down to the individual item (packed box or large item) level using automated information systems and automatic identification technology for HHG being moved worldwide. Feedback on a recommended approach, coupled with potential hardware and software material solutions from both technology and moving and storage companies is highly encouraged, as is collaboration and partnership between companies within both sectors. ALL businesses are encouraged to respond. The anticipated NAICS Codes for this procurement are 541614. This is a market research tool used to determine market capability and solutions as well as the availability and adequacy of business sources prior to determining the method of acquisition and issuance of award. The Government is not obligated to and will not pay for any information received from potential sources as a result of this special notice. It is requested that interested firms submit to the MCICOM Contracting Office a brief capabilities package demonstrating ability to provide the requested items or alternative solutions. This document shall address, at a minimum the following: (1) Company Profile to include: a. Number of employees, b. Office location(s), c. DUNS number, d. CAGE Code, and e. Small Business designation and status. (2) The solution(s) proposed including, milestones and product literature (Limit: ten (10) pages); (3) A brief summary of previous work similar in scope to this requirement; (4) A rough order of magnitude (ROM) estimate; (5) Lead time for delivery of the solution(s); and (6) Any suggestions or comments to include: a. NAICS code selection, b. contract type, or c. scope/requirement issues. Submission of a capabilities statement is not a prerequisite to any potential future offerings, but participation will assist the Government in tailoring the requirement to be consistent with industry. RESPONSES ARE DUE by 20 October 2017, 3:00PM local Washington, D.C. time. Email submissions of the capabilities packages WILL be accepted, please submit to erika.chavarria@usmc.mil. Fax submissions of the capabilities packages WILL NOT be accepted. Questions or comments regarding this notice may be addressed to Ms. Erika Chavarria. Proprietary information and trade secrets, if any, must be clearly marked on all materials. All information received that is marked Proprietary will be handled accordingly. Please be advised that all submissions become Government property and will not be returned. All government and contractor personal reviewing RFI responses will have signed non-disclosure agreements and understand their responsibility for proper use and protection from unauthorized disclosure of proprietary information as described 41 USC 423. The Government shall not be held liable for any damages incurred if proprietary information is not properly identified.
