- THIS IS A SOURCES SOUGHT (SS) NOTICE ONLY, NOT A SOLICITATION ANNOUNCEMENT AND SHOULD NOT BE CONSIDERED AS SUCH. The Government will not pay for any information received in response to this notice, nor will the Government compensate any respondent for any cost incurred in developing the information provided to the Government. This notice does not constitute a commitment by the Government. Any information provided in response to this market survey will be used for informational purpose only and will not be released. Vendor participation is not a promise of future business with the Government. The purpose of this notice is to conduct market research and obtain information from qualified businesses. The response to this announcement will assist in determining the socio-economic set-aside, if feasible. The Department of Veterans Affairs is required by Public Law 109-461 to give priority to SDVOSB (Service Disabled Veteran-Owned Small Business) and VOSB (Veteran-Owned Small Business) concerns if there should be sufficient firms available to compete under a set-aside. The Department of Veterans Affairs, Network Contracting Office (NCO) 16, John L. McClellan VAMC, Pathology and Laboratory Medicine Service, Little Rock, AR needs to procure reagents and consumables for their Government-owned Cepheid GeneXpert analyzer. These reagents are required to perform testing for Clostridium difficile and Chlamydia trachomatis/Neisseria gonorrhea testing. The GeneXpert Molecular Microbiological reagent test cartridges are necessary to provide rapid turnaround time for bacteriological agents to aid in the management and prevention of Healthcare Associated Infections (HAIs). Only reagents/cartridges manufactured by Cepheid will work with the analyzer. It is proprietary in nature and the configuration is such that only the specific cartridge will fit into the analyzer. Potential sources must demonstrate experience and knowledge of required products and capability to provide said product. Potential sources shall submit: Business name, address, point of contact and phone number Business size, any applicable socio-economic category and DUNS number Capability statement, information for recent/relevant projects similar in nature and contract number(s) The NAICS Code for this procurement is 334516 and the small business size standard is 1,000 employees. Responses to this notice shall be emailed to Sheila Reed at Sheila.reed@va.gov. Include the following in the email subject line: RFI 36C25618Q0023-Cepheid Reagents. Responses must be received by 12:00pm (central), Tuesday, October 10, 2017. This notice is to assist in determining sources only. There is no solicitation currently available. There is no guarantee, expressed or implicit, that the market research for this acquisition will result in a particular set-aside, sole source award or any other guarantee of award strategy. All information is to be provided on a voluntary basis and at no charge to the Government.
