- The overarching goal of this task order is to improve the existing data resource to better meet FDA's data needs for regulating opioids and other products with abuse potential. The objectives of the Data Resource Verification, Enhancement, Validation, and Refinement project are (1) to gain a better understanding of the representativeness of two of RADARS sources of data: the Opioid Treatment Program (OTP) that monitors prevalence of prescription opioid abuse among admissions to federally approved opioid agonist treatment programs and the Survey of Key Informants' Patients (SKIP) Program that collects data from patients entering substance abuse treatment programs (excluding methadone programs) (2) to explore the feasibility of and potential strategies for obtaining a mutually agreed upon national probability sample derived from a well-defined underlying population, (3) to assess the extent and characteristics of misclassification in the OTP and SKIP surveys, and (4) to develop approaches for improved ascertainment and analytic approaches that address existing misclassification.
