- UChicago Argonne LLC, operator of Argonne National Laboratory (ANL) under Prime Contract No. DE-AC02-06CH11357 with the U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) is hereby inviting contractors to submit letters of interest for the management of the Argonne Cafeteria and other related services. ANL, located just outside of Chicago, is one of the U.S. Department of Energy's largest national laboratories for scientific and engineering research with approximately 3,200 employees, 268 postdoctoral scholars, 582 graduate and undergraduate students, 256 joint faculty, 7,422 facility users and 1,005 visiting scientists. ANL serves as a science and energy laboratory with the goal of solving the nation's most important challenges in energy, the environment and national security. ANL is a controlled-access federal facility and approval for site access is required. ANL is looking for a contractor to provide food service and other associated operations as summarized below: •· Cafeteria, Building 213 (Bistro 213 and Work Café) Argonne Work Café Merchandise Store Building 201 Coffee Kiosk Building 240 Concrete Café Full Service Catering, inclusive of Catering Vehicle Child Care Catered Food Program The resultant contract will be a zero dollar agreement awarded on a straight profit and loss basis with the Contractor bearing the entire burden of financial risk. The Laboratory assumes no liability for costs incurred in the provision of these services. Please provide your company's interest in this solicitation by providing a Letter of Intent detailing your company's ability to provide the services described above and your intent to propose on this solicitation to the ANL contact personnel listed within. It should be noted that this request is for planning purposes only; it is not a request for proposal. No solicitation exists at this time and there is no guarantee of a formal solicitation to be issued by UChicago Argonne, LLC as a result of responses to this posting. UChicago Argonne, LLC will not be liable for payment of any response preparation expenses. E-Mail responses are preferred.
