Description
Question #1: What is the estimated annual usage quantity and average weekly delivered quantity required? Answer #1: The weekly range varies but typically is between 100-150 lbs. a week Question #2: Standard dry ice pellet containers hold an estimated 500 pounds of dry ice, please confirm if this is similar to the current container used, or if not, what size is required. Answer #2: We currently store our ice in our deep freezer and do not have an external container capable of holding pellets. This would have to be provided by the company. Question #3: In reference to 2.1.1, are the dry ice pellets packed in poly bags inside the storage container, or will bulk dry ice pellets be acceptable? Answer #3: - Currently, the blocks are packaged in plastic bags and stored in our deep freezer. - Bulk dry ice pellets are acceptable if the company can provide a storage container. Question #4: It appears there will not be a dock available for deliveries. As swapping of storage containers is necessary please confirm that transportation of the dry ice will not require the dry ice container to be pushed more than 50 feet or up an incline over uneven surfaces. Answer #4: - The MDG has 2 loading docks that are accessible for deliveries. 1 is located in logistics warehouse and 1 is in the back area leading to ambulance services. - The container will need to be on wheels to allow for easy delivery to the lab since loading docks are located <50 feet away. Question #5: Please confirm that if delivery is not on ground level that an elevator is available inside the building. Answer #5: Delivery is in ground level Question #6: Are there any security or gate check points that are required to deliver? If so, please confirm that estimated wait time will not exceed 15-20 minutes in order to access the delivery site. Answer #6: Deliveries have to go through the Wheatland Gate checkpoint. Wait time varies depending on time of day, however if all required documents are present during the inspection (vehicle registration, deliver order forms, proof of insurance, valid driver's license) this will expedite the process.
