- AMENDMENT 001: THE PURPOSE OF THIS AMENDMENT IS TO ANSWER QUESTIONS RECEIVE IN RESPONSE TO THIS SOLICITATION POSTING, REVISE SPECIFICATIONS, AND EXTEND THE DUE DATE FOR QUOTATIONS. QUESTION 1: SPECIFICATON S: "..THE KAPTON SHALL BE THIN AND THE CONDUCTORS SHALL BE A RESISTIVE ALLOY TO REDUCE THE POWER LOAD FROM THIS CAVITY" WHAT IS CONSIDERED "THIN" AND WHAT IS THE RESISTIVE ALLOY TO BE USED? IS THERE A SPECIFICATION FOR THE POWER LOAD? ANSWER 1: 2 MIL (0.002 INCH) KAPTON 2 MIL (0.002 INCH) ALLOY 706 COPPER/NICKLE THERE IS NO SPECIFIC POWER REQUIREMENT QUESTION 2: REQUIREMENT b.i.3 STATES THAT THE COLDER PILL SHALL BE ABLE TO MAINTAIN A TEMPERATURE OF 0.1 K OR LOWER FOR 150 HOURS OR LONGER WITH THERMOMETRY WIRING INSTALL. DOES THE CONDITION "OR LOWER" MEAN THAT THE HOLD TIME NEEDS TO BE > 150 HOURS AT THE BASE TEMPERATURE OF THE ADR? PLEASE SPECIFY THE HOLD TIME AT A SPECIFIC TEMPERATURE? ANSWER 2: REQUIREMENT b.i.3 IS HEREBY REVISED AS FOLLOWS: b.i.3: THE COLDER PILL SHALL BE ABLE TO MAINTAIN A TEMPERATURE OF 0.1K FOR 150 HOURS OR LONGER WITH THERMOMETRY WIRING INSTALLED. QUESTION 3. REQUIREMENT w.ii. STATES THAT A POWER SUPPLY CAPABLE OF PROVIDING SUFFICIENT CURRENT TO THE MAGNET (1.b.v), BRAND OR EQUIVALENT TO THE 20 AMP KEPCO BOP. DOES A 20 A POWER SUPPLY HAVE TO BE PROVIDED REGARDLESS OF THE TYPE OF MAGNENT PROPOSED? ANSWER 3: REQUIREMENT w.i.i IS REVISED AS FOLLOWS: "A POWER SUPPLY CAPABLE OF PROVIDING SUFFICIENT CURRENT TO THE MAGNET (1.b.v), BRAND OR EQUIVALENT TO A KEPCO BOP WITH APPROPRIATE MAXIMUM CURRENT RATING" THE PROPOSED POWER SUPPLY SHALL MATCH THE PROPOSED MAGNET, THE PROPOSED POWER SUPPLY MAY HAVE A MAXIMUM CURRENT DIFFERENT FROM 20 AMPS. THE DUE DATE FOR QUOTATIONS IS EXTENDED THROUGH OCTOBER 23, 2017 NLT 3:30 PM EASTERN. ALL OTHER TERMS REMAIN UNCHANGED.
