Description
This is a Notice of Intent to Increase the Ceiling of Contract N66001-17-C-4027 to Intrinsix Corp., awarded by SSC Pacific on behalf of the Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency Microsystems Technology Office (DARPA MTO) on 19 April 2017 for a performance period of 12 months with one, 6-month option. The effort under the contract is in support of the DARPA MTO Program, Common Heterogeneous Integration and IP reuse Strategies (CHIPS) for RF Electronics, and involves innovative research in the area of evaluating technology requirements for 3D integration of a chiplet-based, integrated circuit (IC) design and fabrication environment to include architecture standardization for interconnects, electronic design automation (EDA) tool flow, and intellectual property (IP) identification for an initial chiplet portfolio. This additional effort will apply the lessons learned from the 3D integration and chiplet-based design evaluation performed by Intrinsix for the CHIPS program, realize a demonstration system that aligns with DARPA MTOs Reconfigurable Imaging (ReImagine) program. The goal of the ReImagine program is to demonstrate multi-functional imaging sensors that are reconfigurable through software. Hardware realization will target a chiplet-based, 3D integrated methodology similar to what was evaluated for CHIPS. The NAICS code for this procurement is 541712 Research and Development in the Physical, Engineering, and Life Sciences (except Biotechnology). Due to the nature of Research and Development efforts, DARPA MTO could not have reasonably estimated the results and/or need for additional research under this program. This action includes a ceiling increase of approximately $400,892 with no change in length of contract performance. This notice of intent is not a request for competitive proposals or quotes, however, interested parties may submit comments in writing to the Contract Specialist, Mr. Larry Hartpence, Code 22530, Space and Naval Warfare Systems Center, Pacific who may be reached by telephone at (619) 553-4506 or via email to larry.hartpence@navy.mil. This notice will be posted for 15 days. A determination by the Government not to compete based upon response to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government.
