Equivalent items shall be professional/commercial grade library furniture, sold on the market as library furnishings. Equivalent items shall also meet the descriptive features listed with each item above (i.e. mobile, size, steel frame, etc). 1.1.1.2.Furniture shall be installed to the Modern Bookstore Layout (MBL) model in which all shelving adhere to the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) Accessibility Guidelines for library public spaces (Section 8) in design, placement, and functionality. In accordance with this model, any freestanding or center shelving that is mobile shall be no taller than 60.5 inches; any shelving that is taller than 60.5" must be placed against walls and bracketed ensuring safety and clear site lines. 1.1.1.3.Equivalent items will also be evaluated against the requirements below; additionally, these requirements must be taken into consideration during the installation process: Floor shelving unit height cannot exceed 60.5". Floor shelving units will be mobile with less than a 1" rise with casters. Mobile units must have steel frames with heavy duty ball bearing casters and frame must attach directly to risers. 3 Wall shelving unit height shall not exceed 84" with 1-inch vetical uprights, solid one-piece cornice and toe kick, and solid wood edge bands. Shelves must be a minimum of ¾" solid wood, adjustable, support up to 150 pounds of material, and sag proof. Units must have shelving with face out display capability. Units must have integrated top sign attachmnet capability or slatwall end panels. Display shelving must have face out display space for books, mixed media, brochures, and flyers. 1.1.2. The contractor shall provide inside delivery, assemble and installation of all shelving and furniture. 2. GOVERNMENT FURNISHED PROPERTY AND SERVICES. There will be no Government Furnished Property or Services provided for this effort. 3. HOURS OF OPERATION. 3.1. Installation will be performed in an area that requires escorts. Installation dates and times will need to be coordinated and approved in advance. 3.2. Normal Hours of Operation. The contractor shall perform the services required under this contract during the following hours: MON-FRI 0700 to 1600, except for federal holidays. The contractor may work, with prior approval of the Contracting Officer, extended hours to ensure timely completion of work at no additional cost to the government. 3.3. Recognized Holidays. The contractor is not required to provide service on the following days: New Year's Day, Martin Luther King Day, Presidents Day, Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Columbus Day, Veterans Days, Thanksgiving Day and Christmas Day. If the holiday falls on Saturday, it is observed on Friday. If the holiday falls on a Sunday, it is observed on Monday.
