Description
This is a Source Sought Notice - Request for Information (RFI). This is not a solicitation announcement for proposals and no contract will be awarded from this announcement. No reimbursement will be made for any cost associated with providing information in response to this announcement or any follow-up information requests. The Southwest Regional Maintenance Center (SWRMC) San Diego, CA seeks information from West coast sources that can support the USS CORONADO Dry-docking Selected Restricted Availability. The controlling work items are: 1. Provide and manage Schedule and Associated Reports 2. Installation of ShipAlt LCS4-87366K Structural Stanchion Modification; accomplish 3. Installation of ShipAlt LCS4-87456K Air Conditioning Plants No. One, 2 and 3; replace 4. Waterjet Assembly No. 1 through 4; inspect and repair 5. Main Propulsion Diesel Engine (MPDE) Diaphragm Coupling; replace 6. Stern Tube Shaft Seal Assemblies, Water Jet No. One through 4; overhaul 7. Water Jet, One through 4 Thrust Bearing Block Roller Bearings and Thrust Bearing Block Seals; inspect and replace 8. 100 % Preservation of Underwater Hull 9. 100% preservation of the flight deck non-skid 10. Accomplish Temporary Service, Equipment and Systems Test, Inspection and Repair in Contractor Plant, Barge 11. Accomplish Dry-docking and Undocking 12. Underwater Hull Slot Weld Repair; accomplish 13. 2 (each) Ride Control, T-Max Assembly Foil; inspect 14. 4 (each) Ride Control Stabilizer Fins and Ailerons; inspect 15. Ride Control Stabilizer Aileron Fin Hydraulic Cylinders; repair 16. Ride Control Interceptor Rod End Bearings, Skeg Bearings and Capping Plates; inspect and replace 17. Sea Chest Strainer 12 Inch Suction Valves and 10 Inch Overboard Discharge Valves; replace 18. Underwater Hull Slot Weld Repair; accomplish 19. Provide Ship's Force Transportation 20. Provide Ship's Force Parking The USS CORONADO (LCS 4) will require an estimated 263 days for the availability of which, 118 days in dry dock. The Dry dock must be Navy certified. The projected availability dates are 19 MAR 2018 through 7 DEC 2018. Other considerations for this docking: The USS CORONADO is displacing (weighing) 3,006 long tons. The certified lifting of the dry dock would handle that on a tons per foot basis. The draft of the ship, including the projections of the bow thruster and water jets is at 14.4 ft. The docking will require a 2307mm clearance required below amidships keel extended for TMAX rudder removal. The USS CORONADO is a Littoral Combat Ship (tri hull variant). Dimensions are: Length Overall: 419 feet. Breadth: 106 feet Depth: 14.4 feet This RFI is open to all business concerns that are qualified under the North American Industry Class System (NAICS) code 336611 (Shipbuilding and Repairing). If not, when is it available? Where exactly is the dry-dock located?
