Page 2 of 2 CONTINUATION OF PRE-SOLICITATION NOTICE: Project No. 526-10-136A; Renovate Learning Center at the James J. Peters VA Medical Center, Bronx, New York. CONSTRUCTION SERVICES GENERAL SCOPE/Statement of Work. This project will renovate existing space located in areas 5A/5C on the 5th   floor of the James J. Peters/Bronx VA Medical Center to create New Learning Resource Management space that will address (but not limited to) the following:   Construction of a new Library, Construction of SIMulation Laboratories Construction of Collaborative Work Centers Construction of Nursing Education and Training Centers Construction of new Information and Technology Spaces Construction of new Computer Learning Modules, Conference Rooms and Adjacent Staff Offices.   These modifications will address (and correct) Patient and Staff   Flow Configuration and General Staffing Conditions; in addition to all support space such as offices, reception, storage rooms as required.   This includes the reconfiguration of adjacent 5A spaces (i.e. medical media) that are impacted by the new practices design.   Additionally modification and/or replacement of all utility systems (lighting, electrical, telecommunications, ceiling,wall and floor finishes, as well as a new entrance ways with access control. Modification and/or replacement to our mechanical (HVAC) system which will include (but not limited too) a new AHU including a new room temperature control system directed towards our existing Johnson Controls MetaSys building management.;  new plumbing systems to accommodate the revised expansion and asbestos abatement as specified throughout the entire contract area. Please note that this construction contain phases that allows the user services to maintain operations during construction. Notable skill trades: General Construction, Electrical, Mechanical, Plumbing Applicable NAICS Code: 236220. Estimated Completion Time: 740 Calendar Days from receipt of NTP. Award will depend on availability of funds at time of award. This procurement is a 100% set-aside for a Service-Disabled Veteran-Owned Small Business (SDVOSB). Prospective contractors must be registered and certified in the Center for Veterans Enterprise (CVE) VetBiz Registry database prior to submitting a bid: http://www.vip.vetbiz.gov Prospective contractors must be registered and current in the System for Award Management (SAM) database prior to contract award: https://www.sam.gov/portal/public/SAM/ Bids will only be accepted from SDVOSBs that are determined to be responsible and responsive contractors. Prospective contractors must be approved under NAICS Code 236220, Size Standard of $36.5 Million. The NAICS Code selected has been approved as the most appropriate for the project related tasks and SOW. This NAICS Code will not be subject for discussion or change. The cost range for this project is between $5,000,000 and $10,000,000. A bid bond will be required, and performance and payment bonds will be required upon award of contract. The solicitation will be released on or around November 20, 2017. The bid submittal address, date and time will be included in the solicitation. Specifications and plans will be available for download from the FedBizOpps website at https://www.fbo.gov Amendments to this solicitation will be posted on the FedBizOpps website as well. Bidders are responsible for obtaining and acknowledging all amendments to this solicitation prior to the time of bid opening.
