- Expand Outpatient Mental Health Specification 618-16-111 Section 00 01 30 00 01 30-1 SCOPE OF WORK CONSTRUCT EXPAND OUTPATIENT MENTAL HEALTH PROJECT #618-16-111 MINNEAPOLIS VA MEDICAL CENTER A. PART I - GENERAL A1. SCOPE OF CONTRACT Base Bid: The Contractor shall provide all labor, materials and equipment to accomplish the Expand Outpatient Mental Health project per construction drawings and specifications. The project shall be accomplished per contract drawings numbered 618-16-111, specification number 618 16-111. This work includes, but is not limited to: Demolition: Removal of existing planters and quarry tile in the first floor atrium, including cabinet unit heaters and associated floor drains. Selective removal of West and North walls of atrium and second floor waiting area wall. Selective removal of offices, doors, ceilings, carpeting, and wall coverings. Selective basement floor removal. Selective HVAC system removal including ductwork, diffusers, VAV boxes, and pneumatic controls. Removal 70-AH1SW-9 Supply Fan and Cooling Coil. Selective removal of plumbing fixtures. Selective removal of Power and Low Voltage systems back to source including fixtures, devices, raceways, conduit, and cabling. Selective removal of wet pipe automatic sprinkler system including heads and piping. Selective removal of Fire Alarm system including appliances. Work must be performed in a careful manner protecting those items not to be removed from damage. Contractor shall remove from the VA site and dispose of all equipment and materials not scheduled to be reused. Owner retains right of first refusal on all times to be removed. Verify with owner prior to disposal. New construction consists of, but is not limited to: Installation of new rooms within Outpatient Mental Health including walls, doors, interior finishes, paint, and flooring. Installation of new interstitial space including concrete and structural members. Installation of new HVAC systems serving Outpatient Mental Health. Installation of new 70-AH1SW-9 Supply Fan and Cooling Coil. Balance of HVAC systems including Supply, Return and Exhaust systems and associated equipment. Installation of new Plumbing fixtures. Installation of new Power and Low Voltage systems. Installation of wet pipe automatic sprinkler system including heads. Installation of Fire Alarm system including appliances. Additional project specific notes: Items not noted as to be demolished shall be protected from damage. Any damage not caused by the owner or deemed to be normal wear shall be corrected by the contractor with no additional time and/or money. Temporary construction items such as dust walls, safety barriers, etc. shall be the responsibility of the contractor. Obtain approval from VA staff prior to the installation of such temporary construction. Coordinate with VA prior to performing shutdowns of electrical power systems, HVAC Equipment, chilled water systems, and fire suppression systems for modifications and tie-ins. Phasing: Refer to drawing G-005 for phasing information. Shutdowns: Air Handling Unit 70-AH1SW-9, Return Fan 70-RF-8, and Exhaust Fan 70-EF-20. Chilled Water System. Fire Suppression System. Substation No.6 Bid Alternate Deducts: Note: All items listed as Bid alternates for items noted as Existing to remain on construction documents shall be included as part of the base bid. The following items shall be priced and itemized as deductions from the base bid. Deducts shall be selected in progressive succession (i.e Deduct#1, or Deduct#1&2, or Deduct #1,2&3, etc.) ALTERNATE DEDUCT NO.1 - BASE ITEM, minus Conversion of VAV boxes from pneumatic control to DDC control. Conversion of radiant heating at perimeter zone finned tube from pneumatic control to DDC control. See items listed as bid alternate on sheets HD110, HD115, H110, H115. Deduct 30 calendar days from contract. ALTERNATE DEDUCT NO.2 - BASE ITEM, minus ALTERNATE DEDUCT NO 1, minus Replacement of HVAC grilles. See items listed as bid alternate on sheets HD110, H110). Deduct 21 calendar days from contract. ALTERNATE DEDUCT NO.3 - BASE ITEM, minus ALTERNATE DEDUCT NO 1 & 2, minus Replacement of sprinklers. See items listed as bid alternate on sheets FX100. Deduct 7 calendar days from contract. ALTERNATE DEDUCT NO.4 - BASE ITEM, minus ALTERNATE DEDUCT NO 1, 2 & 3, minus Replacement of fire alarms. See items listed as bid alternate on sheets FA100. Deduct 7 calendar days from contract. ALTERNATE DEDUCT NO.5 - BASE ITEM, minus ALTERNATE DEDUCT NO 1, 2, 3 & 4, minus Replacement of lighting fixtures. See items listed as bid alternate on sheets ED110, E110. Deduct 14 calendar days from contract. ALTERNATE DEDUCT NO.6 - BASE ITEM, minus ALTERNATE DEDUCT NO 1, 2, 3, 4 & 5, minus Replacement of ceiling grid. See items listed as bid alternate on sheets A-111, I-114, I-602. Deduct 14 calendar days from contract. ALTERNATE DEDUCT NO.7 - BASE ITEM, minus ALTERNATE DEDUCT NO 1, 2, 3, 4, 5 & 6, minus Replacement of ceiling tile. See items listed as bid alternate on sheets ID111, I-114, I-602. Deduct 7 calendar days from contract. ALTERNATE DEDUCT NO.8 BASE ITEM, minus ALTERNATE DEDUCT NO 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6 & 7, minus Replacement wall expansion joint. See items listed as bid alternate on sheets AD110, A400, A401, I-602). Deduct 7 calendar days from contract. ALTERNATE DEDUCT NO.9 BASE ITEM, minus ALTERNATE DEDUCT NO 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7 & 8, minus Replacement Floor expansion joint. See items listed as bid alternate on sheets AD110, A400, A401, I-602. Deduct 7 calendar days from contract. ALTERNATE DEDUCT NO.10 - BASE ITEM, minus ALTERNATE DEDUCT NO 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8 & 9, minus Replacement of carpet. See items listed as bid alternate on sheets I-110, I-602. Deduct 14 calendar days from contract. ALTERNATE DEDUCT NO.11 BASE ITEM, minus ALTERNATE DEDUCT NO 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8 & 9, minus Installation of Terrazzo flooring. Substitute Tile flooring in Lieu of Terrazzo floor in corridor. See items listed as bid alternate on sheets I-110, I-602. Deduct 30 calendar days from contract. A2. TENTATIVE SCHEDULE: Contract award* D Pre-construction conference D+7 Notice to Proceed D+12 Construction start D+22 Construction completion D+561 Schedule Objectives - The anticipated substantial completion of this project is 542 days after Notice to Proceed (NTP).
