Description
Solicitation document to be filled and returned. COMBINED SYNOPSIS/SOLICITATION NOTICE: This is a combined synopsis/solicitation notice for commercial product/services prepared in accordance with the format in the Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) Subpart 12.6, as supplemented with additional information included in this notice. This announcement constitutes the only solicitation; quotes are being requested and a written solicitation is attached. Solicitation RFQ FA9401-18-R-0003 incorporates provisions and clauses effective through Federal Acquisition Circular (FAC) 2005-95, dated 13 Jan 17. This requirement is set-aside 100% for Small Business. North American Industry Classification System Code (NAICS) is 339113 - Vacuum pumps, laboratory-type, manufacturing, with a size standard of 750 employees. All qualified small businesses under this industry are encouraged to submit quotes. DESCRIPTION OF REQUIREMENT: The acquisition of the multi-stage roots pumps will provide significant advances to the SEEM program by providing redundancy in an existing DC discharge/flow tube ion source apparatus. The current set-up requires down time to maintain the existing vacuum setup and is subject to extended downtime should a single vacuum pump fail and require repair or replacement. Acquisition of the roots pump allows for continued operation during routine maintenance as well as providing necessary redundancy for these experimental analyses that allow us to measure reaction kinetics and products of chemistry processes as they relate to the ionosphere, re-entry, combustion, solar fuels, and high energy materials. This acquisition will significantly improve the scope and productivity of our research.
