- Marine Corps Air Ground Combat Center, Twentynine Palms has a requirment for Air Medical Transportation Services. Contractor is required to have 24/7, 365 day standby aboard the instillation. AIR MEDICAL TRANSPORT SERVICES OR MEDIVAC. The Contractor shall provide the levels and types of air medical transport services routinely provided to the public. The types of services are described in the following levels: LEVEL I. High Acuity Air Ambulance to destination facilities: 1. Critical Care Life Support (CCLS): Acute conditions 2. Advanced Life Support (ALS): Acute or non-acute conditions. ALS is defined as a patient having any of these conditions singly or in combination: • Any invasive procedures or equipment including IV therapy, chest tube, endotracheal intubation, crichothyrotomy, pacemaker, and nasogastric tube; • Supplemental oxygen dependency; • Cardiac monitoring; • Ventilator; • Pulse oximetry required to monitor pulmonary / respiratory status; and/or • Any complaint involving the head, neck, chest or abdomen except for superficial involvement. 3. Specialty Care Missions: Neonatal, Obstetric, and others. Neonatal transports are arranged in conjunction with the Pediatric / Neonatal transport team out of Loma Linda primarily. The Government is not responsible for providing medical staff and isolette for Air Evac services. See paragraph 7.3 for billing procedures. LEVEL II: Moderate Acuity (Minimum Basic Life Support required) Air Ambulance to destination facilities and/or return to MAGTFTC facilities for re-admission. Specialty care monitoring or BLS monitoring required (non-acute/stable). BLS is defined as a patient having any of these conditions singly or in combination: •• Need for oxygen for flight supplementation only; •• Capped IV device; •• Foley-type catheter to gravity drainage; •• Stabilized single fracture; •• Capped nasogastric tube; •• Need for monitoring of vital signs; •• Superficial wounds and/or infections; and •• Stable overall patient condition. LEVEL III: Any patient not requiring BLS monitoring. LEVEL IV: Any other emergency flight not requiring medical evacuation services.
