Description

The purpose of this amendment is to provide answers to the vendor questions listed below. ALARIS IV PUMPS 36C10G-18-Q-0040 VENDOR QUESTIONS AND ANSWERS Question: I have a question regarding the Alaris solicitation 36C10G18Q0040. In the solicitation document you reference the following: The associated North American Industrial Classification System (NAICS) code for this procurement is 339112 and the associated size standard is 1000 employees. In the attached document justification you state other than full and open, for direct with BD/CareFusion for Alaris products. BD/Carefusion is a large company greater than 1000 employees.   Seems in conflict with original solicitation. Answer: You are correct that this is an other than full and open solicitation for Alaris brand name only equipment. In regards to the NAICS we are required to list the applicable NAICS code and size designation on all solicitations, however, this is not a small business set-aside, so large businesses are permitted to submit quotes. Question: I saw this posting for Alaris Pumps. After reading this is an Open Market and not a set aside or a Cascading Solicitation can you confirm? We have had several Alaris awards over the past year as an SDVOSB Set aside. Answer: Thank you for your interest in the subject requirement. You are correct in that this requirement is not set-aside for small business; this requirement is for Alaris brand name items only and the original equipment manufacturer (OEM) is coded as a large business. At the time of our market research the OEM indicated to us that they had no authorized distributors for these products. If that is no longer the case and you are an authorized distributor we welcome your participation in this acquisition. Question: Alaris does have several SDVOSB Authorized Distributors. In September (last month) we received an award for Alaris Award for two contracts. We would like to request that this Solicitation be posted as an SDVSOB Set Aside or a Cascading Approach Solicitation Answer: Thank you for your interest in the subject requirement. You are correct in that this requirement is not set-aside for small business; this requirement is for Alaris brand name items only and the original equipment manufacturer (OEM) is coded as a large business. At the time of our market research the OEM indicated to us that they had no authorized distributors for these products. As the OEM has stated they don t have authorized distributors the CO has determined that it isn t likely that 2 or more SDVOSB would be able to quote/meet all of the requirements of this solicitation. If that is no longer the case and you are an authorized distributor we welcome your participation in this acquisition. Question: Is it possible to change this to a cascading solicitation as I know you will receive multiple SDVOSB participation? Answer: Market Research indicates that this requirement is not suitable for the cascading or tiered evaluation method as there are no identified SDVOSB, VOSB, or SB manufacturers of the required supplies. Question: We reviewed the RFP posted on FBO.gov with Solicitation No. 36C10G18Q0040 The excel file attached with the RFP in which part no or description is not mentioned. So it's our request to please mention part number or description in excel file. Answer: The part number and description are listed on Attachment A, Cost and Price Schedule in column B.
